The Bean Machine Gridlock Girdle for Cummins Common Rail engines is a precision-engineered solution designed to eliminate the weak points commonly found in other girdle systems. Developed with firsthand experience and performance in mind, this girdle offers unmatched durability, simplicity, and fitment — all without sacrificing strength or adding unnecessary weight.
Unlike competing designs, our girdle requires no oil pan modifications, uses no fragile spacers, and avoids complicated hardware that can lead to leaks or repeated install issues. If you’ve ever dealt with a girdle that required hammering dents into your pan or broke down after one install, you’ll understand the difference immediately.
Built for Strength — Without the Bulk
The Gridlock Girdle locks down your bottom end by tying in every available bolt location across the block — all the way to the edges. Steel dowel pins ensure main caps are precisely aligned and securely fastened. To further strengthen cap rigidity, preload set screws apply clamping force directly to the center of each cap — helping to resist flex and deformation under high-load conditions.
Why Aluminum?
We originally prototyped the Gridlock in tool steel. The result? A bulky, overbuilt anchor that was more of a liability than an asset. So we asked: What really matters in a girdle?
The answer: Tensile strength and coverage. Our girdle is more than twice the thickness of most steel versions on the market — giving it superior strength while remaining lightweight and easier to install.
By incorporating steel inserts at the main stud locations, we prevent compression of the softer aluminum and add integrated locating dowels for exact alignment. The girdle is also O-ringed for a leak-free seal to the engine block.
